H-E-B helps with Hurricane Harvey relief efforts

8/28/2017

Sunday morning, San Antonio, Texas-based H-E-B deployed its emergency response fleet to help Texans struggling in the midst of Hurricane Harvey-triggered massive flooding.

“A convoy of more than 15 vehicles left San Antonio at 10 a.m. equipped with pharmacy and business service units that will reportedly allow people to fill prescriptions, cash checks, pay bills and get ATM access,” reported a San Antonio ABC News affiliate.

Included in the fleet are two 45-foot-long mobile kitchens that are designed to serve up to 2,500 meals per hour. The kitchens will serve hot meals to storm victims and first responders, according to the news report.

In addition, H-E-B said it will donate $100,000 to Hurricane Harvey disaster-relief efforts, and it is soliciting contributions from customers at checkout.
