The Fresh Market is taking meal solutions to the level of fine dining, launching The Fresh Market Ultimate Dinner Meals, family-focused meals with high-grade proteins, sides, appetizers and desserts.

The Ultimate Steakhouse Dinner Meal, for example, is made to feed six people for $149.99, including two USDA Prime First-Cut New York strip steaks, two USDA Prime First-Cut ribeye steaks, two USDA Prime Chateaubriand-Cut filet mignon steaks, two pounds of ready-to-cook seasoned asparagus, six ready-to-heat loaded twice baked potatoes, one caprese platter complete with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil and one gourmet fruit tart made fresh in store.

The meal comes with cooking and heating instructions and appropriate suggested wine pairings.

The Fresh Market created the meals to help larger groups looking to celebrate a larger meal, where going out to a restaurant during COVID-19 might be tougher. “While these are unprecedented times, our guests still want to treat themselves to a special meal, whether they are celebrating a birthday, anniversary or even a Saturday night dinner socially distanced with some friends,” said Dan Portnoy, chief merchandising officer, The Fresh Market. “That is why we are launching The Fresh Market’s Ultimate Dinner Meals, which rival the quality of any fine dining restaurant meal."

The meals seem to be a weekly offering with the steak meal being the first. The Greensboro, N.C.-based retailer already has other exclusive meal options such as its Market Meal Kits, store brand all-in-one meal solutions for two people to pick up and cook in a skillet in 20 minutes or less. Each kit features premium, pre-measured, prepped fresh in-store ingredients such as boneless, skinless chicken breasts, succulent shrimp, sirloin beef steaks, Atlantic salmon fillets and fresh veggies. Newer dishes include: Chicken Pad Thai, Pesto Shrimp Pasta and Salsa Verde Pork Chops.

For holidays, The Fresh Market also presents value meals to serve a larger gathering such as an old-fashioned low country boil for Labor Day.

The specialty grocer runs nearly 160 stores across 22 states in the United States. As it prepares for the Fall, The Fresh Market also rolled out its seasonal The Fresh Market Pumpkin Spice Coffee this month, a seasonal, exclusive favorite featuring 100% Arabica beans and combines the flavors of ripe pumpkin with cinnamon spice and nutmeg. The coffee is roasted in small batches and is available in regular or decaf and ground or whole bean.
